Sheila - thank you for noticing that the wrong statue was shown on our Walsingham feature. It has been put right.

Interesting website, I have enjoyed my visit and will call in again. I was however surprised to see your statue of Our Lady of Walsingham was an Anglican one There are seven rings for the seven Sacrements and the gifts of the Holy Spirit on Our Lady's throne at the Shrine of Our Lady in Walsingham. Our statue has three rings on the left side of the throne and four on the right side as you look at the statue. How lovely it was to see our Lady of Walsingham is loved in your church and at one time had her own chapel. May Our Lady of Walsingham join her prayers with ours, Sheila.

Excellent article on rediscovering the sacrament of reconciliation (more familiar to me as 'confession'). Very helpful. Thank you.

I just discovered this site, and found it incredibly nostalgic. I was a child of the parish in the 1970s until 1981, when my family left the area. I attended St Richards school and St Philip Howard for 3 years. I am amazed at how similar everything still looks. I would like to send greetings to any families of that era that still live in the area and attend the parish.

Last year St. Richard's welcomed me onto their RCIA program, and I wanted to take a moment to thank all those who supported our group so wonderfully through that period of catechesis. A truly fantastic group of people to whom I owe a debt of gratitude, and whose efforts I will never forget. I keep you all in my heart. Thank you so much.

I recently found my Baptismal certificate and was researching to see what I could find out about this church where I was baptised 50 years ago by Rev. McLean Wilson. I visited Chichester this summer, having been gone from the UK for 25 years. If I had known then that I was baptised at St Richard's, I would surely have visited you. I did stop at St Paul's Road (my first home) and the former Zachery Merton Maternity Home in Rustington. Can't wait to be able to come back and visit St. Richard's. This is a wonderful website - thank you for making it so informative and making me feel I still have some connections here.

Many heartfelt thanks for 'loaning out' Fr Royston to us to hold my Mother's funeral at Walton-On-Thames on 29th April. You're a very fortunate parish indeed to have such a capable, approachable person like Fr Royston to serve you. Best wishes in Christ. Paul Greer, Gothenburg, Sweden

It's always great to be able to keep in touch with developments at St Richard's via the site. May I wish Saint Richard's Church all the best during the development - the plans look superb. I look forward to seeing it in 2008.
Always in the hope of mum's name being lifted from the section of the bulletin 'please pray for the sick'. I write offering my best wishes to all and hoping that your summer passes well.
Please pray for Mum's well being, as I will here, at the Cathedral Notre Dames - Des - Doms beside the old Palace of the Pope's in Avignon.

My name Ricardo, is the spanish name for Richard. I have just learned St. Richard Pray and I feel it very wise and very christian in its essence.
Jorge Luis Borges loved UK, and unfortunately Falklands war put a severe distance between both nations. Perhaps St. Richard may have a task to do in that sense.
God bless UK and Argentina.

What a great web-site. I just loved to see all the pictures. The assistant Priest seems to be very busy with the things he has done. I see the Parish Priest is good too.

A fantastic website. So many happy memories of serving a alter boy at St. Richards in the 1960's, and also as a pupil at the primary school where Mrs. Longlands(ne Callaghan) was principal. Keep up the good work.

Great website which I found via the link on the Bosham Village Website. Such super photos and graphics. I help the Editor of 'Bosham Life', the monthly village magazine, and we would welcome some short articles about 'Our Lady' for the magazine. How about a photo of one or two of the Stained Glass with a short write up to encourage villagers to come and see for themselves. Also to publicise your upcoming Sale? Copy should be sent to richardfidler@f2s.com IHG Eric

This website brought back some fond memories of the two weeks I spent in Chichester in 1989. This was the year my father died and we visited your church as he used to serve as an altar boy there for a number of years (apparently until he was 21). His name was Richard Longlands.
We attended the service twice during our holiday and were made welcome by the rest of the congregation.
Keep up the good work with the website!

Teresa James (nee Martin) in Kingston, Surrey at 2005-03-09 22:39:32
My husband and I were married in St Richards in 1974. At that time my parents Bernard and Rose Martin were very involved with the Church. My brother Christopher (b. 1948) was an altar boy from when he was quite young, my father was head altar'boy' and my mother very busy with UCM (she would have been sorry to see it has just had its last meeting).
Today we had a day trip to Chi and called in at the church. I was sorry to read a few familiar names on the 'sick' list.
IF there is anybody who remembers my family - please send them my/our best wishes.
Teresa

As a volunteer worker at Mercy House, I would like to acknowledge the wonderful help given by your parish. Mercy House is unique - a place of hope for the poorest and most oppressed people of Africa - its refugees. You could not have chosen a more deserving cause for your love, prayers and material assistance.
